Order of the Lion of Zähringen
A Commander’s Cross of the Order in GOLD, 54x49 mm, the arms, set to the obverse with one green, translucent paste each; flanked by golden ornaments of stylized
foliage; obverse centre medallion with miniature enameled scene of the Zäringen ruin, within chiseled, golden outer circlet; smooth, polished reverse, with
red enameled centre medallion, bearing golden lion rampant facing right; upper loop and round, ribbon-ring; with original, silk neck ribbon.
A beautiful, early piece, from ca. 1870, attributable to the workshop of Jacob Chr. Petry, active between 1849-1873 ca.; excellent condition.
