An exceptionnal large embroidered, Grand Cross
Breast Star, 119 mm, with sequined arms bordered
with silver twisted and strip-wire; removed fleursde-lys in August 1830; small loops to mount the
star to the habit; large, convex, chiselled silver centre
medallion with separately made head of Henri IV
facing right on highly polished ground; the outer
circlet with motto “HONNEUR ET PATRIE” and laurel
branches; the reverse with original paper backing and
ancient, sepia-ink handwritten, cursive abbreviation
“C H”.
A beautiful, rare star, extremely fine condition
and excellent quality.
