Breen, Walter. WALTER BREEN’S COMPLETE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF U.S. AND COLONIAL COINS. New York: FCI/Doubleday, 1988. 4to, original black cloth, gilt; jacket. xiv, 754 pages; illustrated. Inscribed to Wayne Homren on August 11, 1989. Fine. Breen’s Complete Encyclopedia is probably the greatest single attempt to discuss all U.S. coinage, including colonial and private coinages, in a single volume. While some have focused on the text’s occasional errors and the volume’s production problems, it would be impossible to name another reference work that includes so much solid information on U.S. coins. This copy was signed at the 1989 ANA Convention in Pittsburgh (“30th copy signed here”). Ex Wayne Homren library.
