Newell, Edward T. REATTRIBUTION OF CERTAIN TETRADRACHMS OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT. New York: Extracted from the American Journal of Numismatics, 1911–1912. 4to, later tan quarter morocco; spine with four raised bands, lettered in brown; brown endpapers. 10 + 37–46 + 113–126 + 193–200 + 21–24 + 37–50 + 109–116, including small amounts of other content; 30 plates [Newell’s article is sequentially numbered 1–63 by hand]. Light wear to spine; else fine. An especially desirable work by Newell. Clain-Stefanelli 2344*: “Essential study.” Daehn 3428: “A study of Alexander tetradrachms based on the Demanhur hoard found in 1905, which contained about 8000 Alexander-type coins. A reassessment of Müller’s attributions.”
