Publication dates of each volume are as follows: Volume I [original], 1972 reprint; Volume I [revision], 1984 first printing; Volume II [original], 1972 reprint; Volume II, Part 1 [revision], 2007 first printing; Volume II, Part 3 [revision], 2019 first printing; Volume III, 1972 reprint; Volume IV [in three volumes], 1972 reprint; Volume V [in two volumes], 1972 reprint; Volume VI, 1973 first edition; Volume VII, 1972 reprint; Volume VIII, 1981 first edition; Volume IX, 1972 reprint; and Volume X, 1994 first edition. 8vo, original matching green cloth, gilt; five volumes with jackets, as issued. Near fine. The best overall work covering the entire range of the coinage of the Roman Empire. The original edition took seventy-one years to appear, with Volume X’s 1994 publication completing the enterprise begun with the 1923 publication of Volume I. This set includes both the original and the revision of Volume I and the first and third parts of the revised Volume II (as well as the original Volume II, as some of that material has yet to be revised). Clain-Stefanelli 4056*. Grierson 75. Kroh 70 (five stars): “covers the period 28 BC to 395 AD and it is the current standard reference used by all. This is definitely essential for all collectors.”
