Bolender, M.H. NUMISMATIC AUCTION SALES. Group of 164 auction catalogues, 1926-1960. Present are: Nos. 21, 26, 28-29, 36-183, 185, and 187-197. Sales 47, 88, 94, 110, 111, 112, 114, 117, 119, 123-125, 127-129, 131, 133-135, 145-148, 150-155, 158, 160, 174, 181-183, 185, 188-189 and 192 either have a printed prices realized list or are hand-priced. A photocopy of the rare Sale 184 is also included. Varying formats, original printed card covers. Generally near fine or better, with some of the earlier and small-format sales being more worn. A substantial collection, being 164 of Bolender's 197 sales. Among the notable sales present here are eight sales before No. 40 (the earliest seen with any regularity at all). These early sales were produced in a very modest self-covered, multifold format, and it is easy to see why so few were retained. This set is second only to the Phil Carrigan collection for being the best group of early Bolender sales we've had in many years--and possibly ever. The lot also includes the very scarce 1929 ANA Convention sale, A.L. Doherty's collection of Washingtonia, P.C. Clark's superb patterns, Bolender's own collection, H.A. Sternberg's collection, A.P. Wylie's Confederate paper money and a number of others. Ex Cardinal Collection Library.
