American Numismatic Society. NUMISMATIC NOTES AND MONOGRAPHS. New York, 1920–1985. one hundred five volumes, being all of those issued during this period for ancient coins plus some of them on other topics, as follows: Nos. 1–3, 6, 10, 13–15, 17, 19, 21–28, 30, 32–35, 37, 39–40, 42, 44, 46–47, 49–50, 52–55, 57–62, 64–65, 67–71, 73–82, 84–85, 87, 90–94, 96–97, 105, 107–109, 112–113, 116, 119, 123–124, 126, 128–130, 133–134, 136–138, 144–149, 151–157, 159 and 161–163. Most as issued in their original bindings: Nos. 1–109 are sextodecimo generally in printed card covers; Nos. 112–159 are octavo in printed card covers; Nos. 161–163 are octavo in printed cloth. Nos. 15, 24, 37, 52, 53 and 91 are bound in matching tan cloth with maroon spine labels, gilt. Nos. 14, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 25 are marked as being from the library of Dr. Kurt Regling. No. 40 is marked as being Felix Schlessinger’s copy. Nos. 15 and 37 are inscribed by the author. Condition varies, but generally very good to fine, with a couple of exceptions. A substantial set through 1985 of this most important series of specialized monographs, written on a wide variety of numismatic topics. All of those published on ancients coins during this period are here present, as well as a number of works dealing with later coins. Many of the early titles are scarce. Many if not most titles remain standard works in their respective fields. The series includes, for example: Newell’s Alexander Hoards; Newell’s Seleucid Coinages of Tyre: Vlasto’s Tarentine Numismatics; Milbank’s Coinage of Aegina; Noe’s Mende (Kaliandra) Hoard; Noe’s Coinage of Metapontum; Ravel’s Colts of Ambracia; Bellinger’s series of publications on the Dura hoards; Noe’s Thurian Di-Staters; Newell’s Seleucid Coinages of Tyre; Milne’s Kolophon and Its Coinage; Grant’s Aspects of the Principate of Tiberius; Bedoukian’s Coinage of Cilician Armenia; etc. Grierson 19.
