DIOCLETI-ANVS AVG, laureate head of Diocletian right / VIRTVS-MILITVM, the four tetrarchs sacrificing over lit tripod before campgate with six turrets; pellet in central field, SIS below. RIC VI 52a. A magnificent example of this popular type, struck from a clashed reverse die with the outline of the top of the emperor's head clearly visible. Ex Dr. Nicholas Lowe Collection, privately purchased from 'G.D.' in March, 2004 (Roma Numismatics, Auction XVIII, 29 September 2019), lot 1221.
