Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1845 AU55 NGC, KM735.1, S-3859. A very rare date in this grade, and the finest publicly offered in some time. Listed as R3 (~50 examples known) in the latest edition of Marsh edited by Steven Hill and cataloging therein at 3000 UK pounds in EF, the same figure in the 2019 Spink guide. There are no Mint State examples graded at either PCGS or NGC, with only a single AU58 at NGC superior. Very light wear commensurate with the grade and no issues. Sure to elicit spirited bidding.
