Description

Pfalz - Electoral Pfalz. Karl Philipp gold Carolin 1733 MS62 NGC, KM253, Fr-2032 (this coin). 9.64gm. A lustrous Mint State survivor whose planchet diagnostics give clear indication as to the specimen's use as the Friedberg plate coin, adding an important history and heritage to what is already an admirable selection unto itself. An elusive type with only few survivors, resulting in a corresponding lack of examples seen by the grading services, this offering currently stands as the lone representative seen by NGC, in uncirculated condition at that, its scintillating fields and light tangerine tone culminating in a considerable visual appeal that could be expected of few others of those that remain.
