Description

George V 5 Cents 1921 AU53 NGC, Ottawa mint, KM22a. Dubbed the "Prince" of Canadian numismatics due to its continued existence in only small numbers, the 1921 5 Cent issue saw most of its original mintage remelted subsequent to its production, leaving only few survivors. Of these, a large number circulated extensively, with the result that only very small numbers remain in better states of preservation such as this example, which retains appreciable detail complemented by icy white luster in the fields. The result is a respectable representative of Canadian numismatics, one which most collectors of the series could only hope to attain.
