Description

Charles I Crown ND (1645-1646) AU50 PCGS, Tower mint (under Parliament), Sun mm, Group IV, S-2761, N-2198. 29.82gm. Very well made on a perfectly round, high quality flan. Weak to the highpoints as is very common for type; however, the annealing flaw texture (very fine surface cracking) is present throughout even the soft aspects of the design indicating that it is not overly worn per se, simply inexactly struck. Handsome nonetheless with gunmetal gray tone and aurous highlights within the legends.
