MYSIA. Cyzicus. Ca. 550-450 BC. EL sixth-stater or hecte (11mm, 2.61 gm). NGC VF 5/5 - 5/5. Bearded centaur kneeling left, head right, transverse branch in both hands, all on tunny left below / Quadripartite mill-sail incuse square pattern. Greenwell 46 (pl. II 24). SNG France 5, 273. von Fritze I 124. Boston MFA –. Greenwell proposes this type may be part of the Jason and the Argonaut series found on other Cyzicene coinage, with the obverse being the centaur Chiron.
