THRACE. Byzantium. Ca. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AV stater (19mm, 8.37 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 2/5, scuffs. Ca. 100-96 BC. In the name and types of Lysimachus of Thrace. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon, diadem tie flying up behind / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena enthroned left, Nike in right hand crowning royal name, resting left elbow on grounded shield decorated with gorgoneion motif, transverse spear beyond; KΦ monogram to inner left, BY below throne, filleted trident left in exergue.
