Interesting, the 1940 series of notes features only three denominations, as it was most likely created to supplement the 1938 series until the 1942 series could be prepared. In any event, high grade examples are seldom seen for the 1000 Leva denomination. In fact, in issued form, the highest graded example in the PMG Population Report scores About Uncirculated 55. Only a few graded Specimens exist, leaving this an important opportunity to acquire an underrated type. A large, deep red overprint is seen on each side of this Specimen.
