MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (25mm, 6h). NGC VF. Late lifetime or early posthumous issue of Babylon or Berytus, local imitative? ca. 323-320 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / AΔEΞΔNΔPOY, Zeus seated left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, feet on stool, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; Phoenician or Aramaic letter M (date?) in left field; AY or ΛY below throne with two struts.
