Louis XIV Ecu 1702-P VF30 NGC, Dijon mint, KM329.16. Generally well-struck, with a peripheral weakness toward the bottom of the obverse (and corresponding area on the reverse), which interestingly allows for a specific identification of the undertype: a 1691 Ecu. Deeper toning at the legends adds a pleasing degree of visual contrast. From the Morris Collection
