China People's Bank of China 3; 5 Yuan 1953 Pick 868s S/M#C283-12; 869s S/M#C283-13 Two Specimens PMG Choice Uncirculated 64(2). A pair of presentation Specimens, including the elusive 3 Yuan denomination. The printing plates for both designs were prepared in the Soviet Union, which may also explain why there was a 3 Yuan denomination. After the Sino-Soviet Split, the 3 Yuan denomination was discontinued and a new version of the 5 Yuan note was introduced. Colors on both examples are excellent.
