A Taisho Year 2 Specimen of the largest denomination from the 1899-1913 Gold Certificate Issue. This gorgeous example features the portrait of 7th century stateman Fujiwara no Kamatari and a vignette of the Tanzan Shrine in Sakurai, Nara on the front and the Bank of Japan building along the the gold exchange clause on back. Although paperclip rust stains and a small ink marking are present, this Specimen maintains excellent eye appeal. Both a perforated and red overprint of "Mi-hon" are present on this scarcity.
