The highest graded of two 1873 10 yen remainders registered in the PMG Population Report. This denomination is very rare in all forms and this remainder complements the sole graded issued example in the previous lot. This gorgeous note probably represents the finest preservation of the detailed artistry for this denomination. This eye appealing rarity features the dual vignettes representing Gagaku (ancient imperial ceremonial court dancing and music) on the front and a large vignette of Empress Jingu riding into battle on the back.
