Sumatra. Singapore Merchants copper Proof Keping Token AH 1250 (1835) PR64 Brown NGC, KM-Tn4, Prid-33A. Issued by Christopher Rideout Read. Obverse Legend reading Tanah Malayu ("Land of the Malays"). An already exceptional rarity within the series, being the only merchant type to carrying the name of its issuer, this being one of just two examples of the issue in the NGC census. Noticeably blemish-free at every turn, and tinged with opalescent hues, it would be an understatement to say that the present offering is very attractive for the grade.
