Description

George III gold "Military" Guinea 1813 MS64 NGC, KM664, S-3730, Farey-1390. Sixth laureate head. Originating from a limited mintage of just 80,000 coins produced primarily to fund Wellington's army during the Napoleonic Wars and marking the final year of Guinea production as a denomination. The present offering boasts eye-catching silky luster accumulating in the outer registers, further enhanced by a light caramel tone. We note the half grade-point finer Woodside Collection example we offered in January 2023 realized $18,600 and prior to that we handled an Ex. Terner MS64 which realized $15,600 in August 2021. Undoubtedly a premium and conditionally rare offering that demands advanced consideration from the advanced collector. HID09801242017 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
