Valparaiso. Republic Counterstamped 4 Reales ND (1833) VF Details (Tooled) PCGS, KM-B112. Volcano with another mountain, VALP below, countermark on the reverse of an Argentina Rio de la Plata 4 Reales 1813 PTS-J (KM4). An incredibly rare Valparaiso Treasury Office counterstamp, the first we could locate having been made on an 1813 dated "Sun Face" 4 Reales from Rio de la Plata. Despite the grade qualifier, this piece displays great eye-appeal, and should be of major significance to collectors of this special series of counterstamped coinage.
