Description

British India. Victoria gold Proof Restrike 10 Rupees 1879-(c) PR64+ S Cameo NGC, Calcutta mint, KM495, Prid-35, S&W-6.21. Reeded edge. This offering represents a rare numismatic opportunity to obtain so many coveted superlatives in one coin. Not only is this 10 Rupee type a limited series in a dedicated British India marketplace but this beautiful Specimen has also been awarded a triumvirate of desirable grade modifiers by NGC; Cameo (Proof), Plus, and Star. A dazzling visual outlier, especially the obverse as the contrast between the perfectly frosted bust of Victoria and the cavernous, jet-black fields is a wondrous sight to behold. It is of no surprise this example was once in the collection of noted British Indian collector, David Fore. Ex. David Fore Collection HID09801242017 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
