An essential Pre-Union type, bearing the 'VIGO' hallmark that serves as a symbolic jab at the Spanish and minted from a significant amount of specie captured during a naval victory at Vigo Bay. The bust and legends appear to be very well struck, providing ample depth to the piece. Furthermore, only 88 examples have been graded in totality by NGC and PCGS.
