Description

Philip II (1556-1598) "Rincón" Real ND (1568-1571)-R XF45 NGC, Lima mint, 3.33gm, Cal-630. Variety with pellet below VLT. Rincón as assayer. A most covetable early emission from this famous first assayer of the Mexico City mint, the present example of the first of this denomination we have handled and the only certified between PCGS and NGC. While admitting some edge chips and cracks, the strike appears admirable well-centered with strong features and the iconic PLVS VLTRA motto still fully legible. Toned with a mix of dark charcoal and dove-gray silver, the current offering is sure to garner fierce bidding.
