Description

Danish Colony. Christian IX gold 10 Daler (50 Francs) 1904 (heart)-GJ MS63 Prooflike NGC, Copenhagen mint, KM73. A perpetually popular colonial type, always in high demand in any grade but elusive in Mint State. This MS63 PL is leaps and bounds above average for an already rare issue; whilst several examples achieve somewhat reflective fields and prooflike elements, it is entirely unusual to see an example certified as prooflike and thus renders this specimen all the more desirable. Christian's portrait is immaculately performed carrying a light layer of frost picking it out from the glossy orange-gold fields behind, the reverse giving a similar Proof contrast effect. Minor contact marks reside in the fields, but no overtly distracting marks draw the eye away from this coin's well-earned appreciation. Serious collectors need look no further for quality, as this specimen impresses in every regard. Worthy of a strong bid.
