Republic gold Pond 1897 AU58 NGC, Pretoria mint, KM10.2. A pleasant example of an ever-popular denomination, clearly one which has encountered very little, if any, circulation. Highly lustrous and with few distracting marks, especially premium for the grade. A similar example of the same grade (with seemingly more wear) sold in our September 2018 Long Beach sale for $2,160.
