Description

James I gold 1/2 Laurel ND (1624) AU55 NGC, Tower mint, Trefoil mm, 4.43gm, S-2641A, N-2117. Fourth laureate bust of James I left, value behind head in inner circle / Crowned arms in inner circle. 3rd Coinage of 1619-25. The second highest certified by NGC, this pleasant example boasts a crisp portrait of King James, all-important for this issue commonly weakly-struck issue. Some localized areas of weakness do not detract from the appearance of this attractive Stuart offering.
