Description

Leopold I "Siege of Vienna" Taler 1683 MS62 NGC, Vienna mint, Vogl-239, Hcz-2468, Verstal-1845. Highly historical, this issue was struck to celebrate the breaking of the Ottoman siege of Vienna in 1683. The obverse depicts the Hapsburg eagle grasping the Earth between the sun and moon. Alluring lilac and steel tone is present throughout both sides, with a fitting lightening around the sun, whose surrounding area glows gently with warm peach tone.
