Meng Chiang (Inner Mongolia). Japanese Occupation aluminum Pattern 5 Fen Year 738 (1943) MS62 PCGS, KM-Pn2. A rare example of this Japanese occupation type, which derives from a scarce series also including a Fen and a Chiao pattern, this being the middle denomination of the three. These Pattern pieces are a bit of an enigma, as they are dated by the unusual dating system by Kublai Khan, the grandson of Gengis Khan, very few other coins are dated by this system.
