George IV bronzed Specimen "English Army in Egypt" Medal "1801" (1820) SP63 PCGS, Eimer-929, BHM-504. 40mm. By T. Webb. While this Medal was produced in 1820 as a part of J. Mudie's National Medals Series, which consisted of 40 Medals commemorating the most important military and naval victories during the reign of George II, the subject depicts a boldly pronounced Sir Ralph Abercromby who secured the British Victory in Alexandria. The reverse features a dynamic horse in front of the Pyramids of Giza and both sides have a mesmerizing and almost-hidden rainbow of patina on the lower field when moved in the light; both sides have an overall deep-chocolate tone.
