A historic offering and one of a handful of impressive Swiss gold multiple Ducats within this very auction, and the second highest denomination. This offering appears to be the only example that has come to market since this exact specimen was previously offered in Paramount and before that 2002, and may even be unique in this design, with all major references citing this weight with an alternative treatment of the obverse lions. Despite the noted tooling, the level of preservation and eye appeal is undeniable, relaying clear and original luster amidst largely unhandled surfaces. Ex.
