George IV bronze "Coronation" Medal 1821 MS64 Brown NGC, BHM-1088, Eimer-1141. 69.5mm. By Rundell Bridge & Rundell. Obv. Laureate bust left, wearing mantle. Rev. Crown atop open wreath, legend around and within. Glossy devices offer a nice contrast to the smooth, reddish-brown lower-lying fields. The simple yet elegant design was struck to exacting specifications, lending remarkable eye appeal. This type was gifted to North American Indian chiefs upon their visits to Great Britain in 1825. None graded higher at either grading service. From the Abbeygate Collection of British Medals HID09801242017 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
