George III bronze "Blucher" Medal 1814-Dated MS64 Brown NGC, Bramsen-1477, Julius-3035. 40mm. By G. Mills. Obv. Aged, bare head right. Rev. Eleven lines text within wreath. Commemorating Field Marshal Blucher, leader of the Seventh Coalition that defeated Napoleon. The contours of Blucher’s sculpted portrait reveal both the quality of the original design as well as the sharpness of the strike. Watery surfaces add an element of quality to this near-Gem specimen that remains the only known example at either grading service.
