George II bronze "Frederick, Prince of Wales" Medal 1729 MS62 Brown NGC, MI-489-29, Eimer-516. 41mm. By Jean Dassier. Obv. Bust of Frederick upon a pedestal, flanked by Fame and Britannia. Rev. Eagle trains her young one to fly towards the meridian sun from a rocky summit, ships at sea beyond. Frederick, father of King George III, never ascended to the throne. Dassier’s elaborate design conveys a winsome feel to this singularly graded specimen at either service. Toning spots do not detract from the overall sense of quality.
