Anne silver "Battle of Blenheim" Medal 1704 MS63 NGC, MI-256-50, Eimer-407. 37mm. By. G. Hautsch. Obv. Duke of Marlborough armored bust right. Rev. Mars seated, amidst battle scene. One of the more majestic portraits that one will ever encounter from medals of the period, with splendid detail in seemingly three-dimensional relief. The reverse is equally impressive in its labyrinth rendering. This particular example is further enhanced by peacock coloration and a blast of ochre that seems to serve as a backlight on the center reverse. Admitting a small rim ding, this is the only example at either grading service and desirable as such.
