MOESIA. Callatis. Ca. 260-220 BC. AR tetradrachm (29mm, 12h). NGC XF. Posthumous issue in the name and types of Alexander III the Great of Macedon, ca. 260-200 BC, possibly of Chalcedon. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied before neck / AΛEΞANΔPOY | BAΣIΛEΩΣ, Zeus enthroned left, right leg drawn back, feet on ground line, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; HP monogram in left field. Price -, cf. 912 (K below monogram). Unlisted and rare with only one other example in sales archives. Centered strike on an broad flan, with beautiful toning.
