MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (62mm, 5h). NGC Choice Fine, edge marks. Uncertain mint in Phoenicia or Syria, ca. 323-317 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / AΛEΞANΔPOY-BAΣIΛEΩΣ, Zeus enthroned left, right leg drawn back, feet on ground line, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; wreath in left field, ΣI below strut. Price 3568. Extremely rare - only three other examples in sales archives.
