Description

George VI Proof Crown 1937-(m) PR63 NGC, Melbourne mint, KM34. Proof mintage: 105. A beautiful representative of Australia's first commemorative Proof Crown and the only currency issue released in 1937, made all the more challenging to obtain this fine as many of the coins issued were sold to non-collectors and were improperly handled or lost to circulation over the years to come. Brilliant and completely untoned bar for a small dark spot on the reverse, with fine underlying die polish lines and a captivating ripple of reflectivity emerging at the turn of the wrist; rendering this a rare opportunity to bid on an important piece of Australian numismatic history.
