Description

Öttingen-Wallerstein-Spielberg. Johann Aloys I Taler 1759 MS65 PCGS, KM18, Dav-2501. An always tougher type to locate in anything appreciable, let alone confidently Gem Mint State. A quick survey of auction results from the last decade reveal a paucity of high-grade specimens, while the majority appear gently handled or impaired. The current representative is a clear outlier for the series, with each detail rendered in its fully glory and dressed in fine cornflower blue. A must-have from this often underappreciated region. From the Cape Coral Collection, Part II
