Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Albrecht Dürer" 2 Taler 1840 MS65 PCGS, KM806, Dav-585. A spectacular gem specimen providing an aura of careful preservation. The Prooflike fields carry a storm-gray patination, effortlessly contrasting the boldly rendered, frosted motifs. Currently unchallenged at this certified grade level. Albrecht Dürer was born in 1471 in the Imperial Free City of Nuremberg. Dürer was a German Renaissance artist who is considered one of the greatest painters and engravers in history. Some of his most recognizable works include the Young Hare; the Knight, Death and the Devil; and the Rhinoceros.
