MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Philip II (359-336 BC). AR tetradrachm (22mm, 14.31 gm, 10h). NGC MS 5/5 - 5/5, Fine Style, overstruck. Posthumous issue of Pella, ca. 323-315 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / ΦIΛIΠ-ΠOY, nude youth on horseback right, palm in right hand, reins in left; coiled serpent right below horse, Boeotian shield in exergue. Le Rider pl. 22, 530f (same dies). Perfectly struck from handsome dies. Delicate toning on a gleaming flan.
