This example features Afrikaans text above English. The sheer size, buying power, and design elements endear it to collectors worldwide. What is even more incredible than seeing one of these notes is seeing two consecutive, and that is what we offer in today's sale. Notice the subsequent lot for the consecutive serial number, and as a pair, the sheer sum of money represented would have surpassed many people's monthly salaries at the time. Additionally, the order of texts alternated with every note printed, so this consecutive pair features both variations for this note. Rare in any grade, with this example being pleasing for the technical grade. Minor margin tears are mentioned for accuracy.
