Israel Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M. 500 Pruta Pick Unlisted Composite Essay. The initial denomination of 500 Pruta is seen on this uniface Composite Essay. This pretty design is known as the initial denomination of the first series of banknotes issued by the Bank of Israel. However, this note and the series from which it is part of, began its life years prior. The Bank Leumi tasked British printer Thomas de la Rue with designing its newest series of notes. As the notes were being prepared, Bank Leumi was absorbed by the newly formed Bank of Israel, and as such, this note from the Bank Leumi was never issued. A desirable and truly unique piece whose historical significance can not be overstated. This Composite Essay serves as the plate note on page 45 in the Dvir book.
