The 1920 series of Currency Board notes denominated in Florins was short-lived, as Shillings notes bearing the date 1921 were issued shortly thereafter. Only mild handling and lightened stains are seen on this incredible and beautiful note. At the time of cataloging, this is only the fourth issued example offered in a major public auction in the last decade. A mere five examples are currently graded by PMG, which indicates the rarity of this denomination in issued form. The design elements are iconic and display the banknote printing prowess of Thomas de la Rue at the time. As if this note needed any "sweetening", one needs to just look at the serial number.
