Serial Number 59 Canada Bank of Canada $50 1954 BC-34a "Devil's Face" PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. A desirable and rare denomination to find with the Devil's Face design in Queen Elizabeth's hair. After the release of this series in 1954, the public noticed what seemed to be a grinning demon in the hair design of the Queen. Rumors circulated as to the cause, but it turned out to be an innocent outcome of the needlework in the hair. The design was redrawn, and new notes were issued in 1956. Very few Uncirculated $50 notes were saved of this first series, which should lead to spirited bidding.
