Issued for only six years, this high denomination note became important for payroll and other cash expenses as the Pound continued to lose value in the 1960s. Pack fresh original quality is easily seen on this example. Across the three known prefixes, only 250,000 banknotes were issued. Decimalization took place in 1970 which forced the redemption of almost all extant examples.
