Bahamas Bahamas Government 1 Pound 1919 (ND 1930) Pick 7cts Color Trial Specimen PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. An impressive Color Trial Specimen of the 1 Pound from the 1930s issue, which at the time was the highest denomination of the series. This Waterlow & Sons printed note features the distinct portrait of King George V at right and a ship seal at left. The purple color was not used on any Bahamas notes of this period, and not a particularly popular color in tropical climates as it was subject to fading. Nevertheless for this presentation Color Trial Specimen, all intaglio features from the frame to the portrait are executed in this very pleasing shade. The underprint color is also characterized by a sunset-like tint instead of the yellow used on this example. Red Specimen overprints and 5 POCs are present. Highly collectible, especially in this top grade.
