Constantinople Commemorative (ca. AD 330-340). AE3 or BI nummus (17mm, 2.44 gm, 1h). NGC MS S 5/5 - 5/5. Trier, 2nd officina, ca. AD 330-331, struck under Constantine I to commemorate the moving of the Roman capitol from Rome to Constantinople. CONSTAN-TINOPOLIS, bust of Constantinopolis left, wearing laureated helmet, and imperial cloak, reversed spear in left hand over shoulder / Victory standing left, right foot on prow, transverse scepter in right hand, left resting on grounded shield; TRS• in exergue.
